I am trying to get more organized this year, and also to eat more healthily and exercise. (I need to lose about 50 pounds :( )
In order to help me in this quest I plan to post one blog a week about organization and/or my healthy lifestyle changes. This will also help me because the blog will be more organized as well. Here is my blog plan for the New Year (note: everything is always subject to change with me)
Monday: Weekly menus
Tuesday: Little House in the Big Woods Curriculum (I am making my own unit study for this book)
Wednesday: What's in the Box?
Thursday: Science
Friday: Geography
Saturday: Art
Sunday Weight loss / organization
Tomorrow will be my first blog about organization. I am going to post about keeping all of your kid's art work organized.
Do you have any weight loss or organization tips for me? What is working for you? I need all the help I can get!
Well, weight loss... I'm of the school of thought that if you practice healthy eating habits and keep active, the extra pounds will just come off on their own. It's not necessarily going to come off quickly, mind you, but that's why fad diets don't work. They promise quick results, but as soon as those results are achieved, there's no reason to stick to the diet, and the pounds come creeping back.
ReplyDeleteListen to your body - a few tricks that help me: if I'm feeling hungry, but I know I've eaten recently, I drink a glass of water. Thirst, for some weird reason, manifests as hunger sometimes. Or I think about what I've eaten - was it balanced? Is there a nutrient I'm missing? If I'm craving something in particular, I look at the specific element I'm craving and try to guess what my body's telling me. I've gotten pretty good at this... if I crave salt, I look at my fluid intake. If I crave sweets, I eat something with a good amount of protein.
Organization is something I struggle with TREMENDOUSLY. I've found, though, the adage "A place for everything, and everything in its place - IMMEDIATELY," works wonders for me. If I don't take care of it as soon as I get it, it just sits and becomes part of a pile that has to be sorted through later. Five minutes here saves me 45 minutes later on.
Good lucky, lady!!
Sounds like a great plan! I look forward to seeing your upcoming posts! Visiting you from the workbox group!
